Pregnant woman who nabbed chain chor felicitated


This 28-year-old woman has become an icon for today’s generation. Daksha Sagar, who is four-month pregnant, chased a chain-snatcher for 4 km and retrieved her gold chain worth Rs 75,000 in Naroda recently.

She was felicitated by the members of Harmony club and Lions Karnavati Club on Sunday.

After reading about Daksha in Mirror, both the clubs decided to honour her for her exemplary effort to catch and hand over the culprit to the police, despite her condition.

Uday Vasavda, president of Harmony Club, said, “We always come across chain snatching news in newspapers and every time, women become victim of the crime. But Daksha has proved that a woman can fight for her rights. She is not a coward. The entire city is proud of her.”

A R Mankodi, DGM Amco Bank; Sheela Mehta, president of Lioness’ Club; Dr Jayesh Trivedi, president of Medicos Forum, also hailed Daksha’s bravery.
