Seconds after her chain was snatched, Daksha Sagar, 28, got on a passer-by’s bike and directed a four-km chase before catching hold of the accused and handing him over to Naroda police
A feisty woman, four-month pregnant, chased a chain-snatcher and retrieved her Rs 75,000-gold chain before handing him over to Naroda police.

Daksha J. Sagar, a resident of Krish Residency in Nikola Naroda Road, scared the hell out of her chain-snatcher who is now cursing his fate in the police lock-up. It turns out that the accused Pravin Chavda is the son of an assistant sub-inspector of Maninagar police station. He has earlier been convicted in robbery and assault cases in Danilimda.

The incident took place around 4.30 pm on Friday when Daksha and her friend Kirtibend Kiritbhai Patel were standing at the AMTS bus stop near Sanidhya Park. Two bike-borne youngsters came near her and the one riding pillion snatched her gold-chain.

An alert Daksha did manage to grab a part of the chain as the chain-snatcher made away with the rest. Furious and determined to get back the chain, the 28-year-old got on the bike of a passer-by, as she gave the two chain-snatchers a chase for four kilometres through Naroda.

She kept shouting for help, drawing the attention of other commuters, some of whom joined her in the chase. When the chain-snatchers saw this, they flashed a knife in an attempt to scare them off. Luckily for her, the chain-snatchers’ bike slipped near Naroda canal.

Daksha and the biker, whose identity is not known, managed to catch hold of one of the chain-snatchers. The other, Dinesh Vankar, escaped leaving the bike behind. A furious Daksha grabbed Chavda by the collar and took out the chain from his pocket before the onlookers handed him over to Naroda cops.

“The gutsy woman handed over the chain-snatcher to us. His name is Pravin Chavda and he is the son of an assistant sub-inspector at Maninagar police station. Chavda has earlier been convicted of robbery and assault. We are now trying to find out the whereabouts of the other accused,” said Senior Inspector G H Gohil.

While onlookers and the cops were all praise for Daksha, her husband Jagdish Sagar reprimanded her for putting herself in trouble by chasing the chain-snatchers.

“I do admire her courage, but what if something had gone wrong? I don’t give a damn about the chain, I only want her and the child to be safe. I profusely thank everyone who helped her in nabbing the accused,” Jagdish Sagar said.

But Daksha was only too happy to have got back the mangalsutra. “Though I understand my husband’s concern, if I face the situation again, my reaction will be the same. I can’t afford to be cowardly and influence my baby negatively,” she says with a smile.

Today at morning before 1 hour All relief road of ahmedabad has been blocked by police fire brigade. Because today one more building crashed, one more building cracked which are located on relief road,laldarvaja of ahmedabad. Building crashing is happen second time in last 3 month. Before some time one building has been crashed at Sunday, December 19, 2010 you can read my old post on it building crashes which was located at near about kalupur railway station at that time no one has been take care about that even police has not been taken any action or government too. On that time no one was killed but today currently we don't have any exact idea about how many persons are injured and how many are in hospital. We hope that nothing happen wrong because this building is so much huge. I think building crashed at midnight time so mostly offices are closed but if it is in residency area than really it's very crucial.

We hope that government are currently block all buildings who has not parking facility but government not blocked building who are aged.So because of parking We don't think anybody killed but if aged building crashes then number of people has been suffered. And may be next we are one of them ?
